About

History

Built in 1956, the Shawinigan Student Residences building was first an early childhood school administered by the Dominican sisters. Subsequently, better known as the Saint-Dominique Center, the building became a place for retreats and spiritual activities. In 2012, the nuns of the Trinity moved in to live with the Dominicans until the building was sold in 2023.

Since then, in collaboration with the city and the Cégep de Shawinigan, we have adapted the building to accommodate students. We are therefore happy to perpetuate the educational mission of the place.
